Mold Damage
April 2001
Imagine coming home from vacation to discover wind damage to your roof, water saturating your ceilings, a broken water pipe that had flooded the house, and an air-conditioner that had failed leaving the house like a steamy sauna. Add to that mix black slimy mold growing from the floor to the ceiling. We were stunned.
Not knowing what we were up against, we immediately called our insurance company certain they would help us through this problem. Much to our surprise, we encountered resistance and more problems. Then my wife started feeling sick, and she was having trouble breathing. We wondered what in the world was going on. Our insurance company assured us that we had a minor problem, and they could take care of everything for a little over $13,000.00, but we needed to let them run the show.
We didn't like the idea of having no say in what was done to our house, and we called an attorney friend to discuss the problem. Without hesitation she referred us to Steve Fredrick. He inspected our home and spent hours with us explaining the severity of our problem. Within a day of enlisting his services he convinced the insurance company to pay for us to move out of the house into a home similar to ours. He introduced us to several specialists who assessed the total cost of our repairs, and best of all, he dealt with our insurance company and set our minds at ease. He hung in there to the end, and now, our home is back the way it should be.
