Zurich Financial tots up hurricane damage (Financial Times)
Zurich Financial Services came out with its first estimate of losses from Hurricane Katrina on Tuesday. The insurer said provisional estimates amounted to $600m after tax and net of reinsurance. The pre-tax loss is seen at $725m. Charges will be recorded in the third quarter.
