State regulators have granted State Farm's request to appeal the state-approved plan for the company's withdrawal from Florida's property insurance market.

The compromise comes the day before the end of the 60-day annual legislative session. Florida legislators struck a compromise Thursday on a sweeping property insurance bill that would increase homeowner insurance rates statewide but reduce Floridians' financial risk of having to pay for damages if a major hurricane hits.
